I spoke to a very frightened lady who was 93-years-old and living on her own. She pressed her panic alarm button because she thought there was an intruder in her house.

Marilyn said "We answered the alarm and spoke to the lady through the personal alarm unit speaker."
Because the alarm unit is loud, it frightened the intruder off. The police were called and they were able to catch the intruder because they followed his footprints in the snow.

Police were quickly on the scene and tracked the suspect down by following the footprints in the snow. The intruder was caught after he fell into a nearby pond.
The snow and cold weather meant many older customers felt more vulnerable and isolated. The Emergency Resolution Team were able to support customers by calling for paramedics and the emergency services where medical assistance was required.
