Your essential guide to staying independent

In his three years with Taking Care, Jordan has not only grown professionally but also made a positive impact on both his team and the new customers our Sales Advisors speak to.

Outside of work, Jordan is an avid sports lover with a passion for football, rugby, and weightlifting.

We asked Jordan to share what it is like to work at Taking Care.

How does your role support our customers?

We play a vital role in matching customers with the personal alarm that best suits their individual needs. This personalised approach ensures that every customer is fully covered according to their lifestyle, giving them the freedom and peace of mind to continue living their normal day-to-day lives.

I recently worked with a customer who had unfortunately just been bereaved and had never managed household bills or expenses before. Over a series of calls, we took the time to discuss her options and I carefully explained the details about payments and direct debits. By providing her with the support and information she needed, we were able to find an alarm that suited her needs. She is now happy and has the continued independence to live at home alone.

One experience that stands out is when I assisted a gentleman who was awaiting discharge from the hospital. As part of his care package, he needed a personal alarm but had struggled to arrange one through various other channels.

We were able to provide an alarm that arrived the next day, enabling him to be discharged from the hospital on the same day.

What's a typical day for you at Taking Care?

My day can vary greatly, but my main focus is on helping my team support our customers. I oversee and support my team of advisors, providing day-to-day coaching and ensure we maintain high-quality service for potential new customers.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

Time management is a key challenge, especially given the variety of tasks I handle daily. However, one of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping people achieve their personal goals and seeing them succeed. It’s fulfilling to know that I’ve played a part in their journey.

What do you love about your job?

I love seeing my team members develop their skills and progress in their careers. One value we all share at Taking Care is putting the customer first. I truly believe that every single employee here has this at the forefront of their mind when they step into work each day.

As a personal alarm company, we give peace of mind to loved ones and, quite literally, save lives. Knowing that we help people when they need it most and keep them living safely in their own homes is incredibly rewarding.

Do you remember your first day at Taking Care?

I don’t recall the specifics of my first day, but from my early days at Taking Care to now, I’ve managed to progress within the company. I’ve completely bought into how important we are for the elderly, especially in caring for the most vulnerable.

Taking Care has given me the confidence to tackle tasks I might have avoided in the past. It has helped me grow both professionally and personally. The company and the people here have believed in me from day one, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to develop and progress in my career.
