Taking Care, an AXA company, has been selected as a finalist in the International Technology Enabled Care (ITEC) Awards 2019, in the category of Individual TEC Leadership.
The ITEC Awards are open to any organisation or individual working in Technology Enabled Care in the UK and overseas. They aim to showcase exceptional work within the sector and are designed to recognise excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement.
Taking Care’s award entry highlights the inspirational leadership by its Project Manager, Steve Cook, during the transition of Careline from Chichester District Council to Taking Care.
The transition has meant that Careline now has access to the investment and expertise provided by the wider AXA network, and can offer a more resilient service, digital innovation and greatly enhanced range of products to its 21,000 local authority customers.
Steve Cook, Project Manager at Taking Care, says, "I am immensely proud to be nominated for such a prestigious award. The success of the transition project was only made possible by the support, enthusiasm and professionalism shown by my colleagues at both Taking Care and Chichester Careline."
The finalists will now be judged by a panel of high-profile industry experts from the care and support sector. Winners will be announced at this year’s ITEC Conference Gala Dinner on 15th October 2019.

Taking Care
Taking Care has been providing personal alarm services for more than 30 years, helping people stay safe in their homes across the UK.
Each year we handle over 25,000 emergency alarm calls from older and vulnerable people. Customers love the peace of mind our service offers. 99% of them say they like the security of knowing someone’s there at the press of a button.
We’re trusted to provide the Age UK personal alarm service, and in March 2019 took over the running and management of Careline. This means we now provide telecare for customers in several local authority areas in Hampshire and Surrey. We employ around 150 staff, each carefully chosen for their caring and professional manner.
