Taking Care are delighted to announce that we are supporting the Isle of Wight Council’s Wightcare telecare service with our out of hours Night Owl monitoring.
Wightcare is an Island-based community alarm and telecare service, providing a high-quality care support service for Island residents living in their own homes. It includes a 24-hour community alarm service, supported by trained operators, a mobile warden and 24-hour call answering.
The Isle of Wight Council needed support for their overnight monitoring service at times when they couldn’t secure cover, normally at short notice, and often when staff fell sick or were unexpectedly unavailable between the hours of 7.30pm and 7.30am.
Flexibility to handle night cover calls quickly and safely
Taking Care worked closely with Wightcare to deliver a service that could be used at short notice during night shifts, providing a Taking Care bank of empathetic and fully trained emergency call operators that could provide a seamless extension to Wightcare’s 24-hour provision.
Seamless integration with the Wightcare service
All Taking Care operators are DBS-checked and chosen for their caring, compassionate nature, and our in-house training programme and ensures that the Isle of Wight Council service users and families will receive the upmost care and attention.
Taking Care’s Night Owl service has provided a life-line cover for Wightcare’s nighttime telecare service provision. We don’t have to worry about filling urgent shifts for a team member who has called in sick or one who has been urgently moved to another project anymore. The quality of the service we receive from Taking Care is fantastic, we’re very confident in relying on using this service going forward.
