Last week we opened our doors to Simon Jupp MP, to demonstrate the benefits of Technology Enabled Care (TEC) in keeping older adults safe in the homes they love for longer.
Simon Jupp, MP for East Devon. Mr Jupp came to see how the company supported older adults with emergency alarms, personal fall alarms and smart home monitors throughout the Covid pandemic and beyond.
During his visit, Mr Jupp saw a range of technology that has been designed to address the needs of people as they age, including our innovative Taking Care Anywhere package that automatically detects falls and allows people to get 24/7 help from anywhere in the UK. We also presented our latest smart home devices that use monitored home sensors to help carers and family members identify and predict problems, ensuring their loved one is safe even when family and carers can’t be with them.
Over the course of his visit, Mr Jupp also spent time speaking with the Emergency Response Team manager Ronnie Allabush to understand more about how Taking Care looks after older adults in the event of an emergency or if they require assistance. Our specially trained Emergency Resolution Team has grown by over 30% in the last year alone as we continue to grow and expand our product offering.
We were delighted to welcome Simon Jupp MP to Taking Care so that he could meet our Emergency Response Team and see the huge amount of work they do to support older adults in living safely and independently.

"TEC has an ever-increasing potential to play a more important role in health and social care than it currently does. The advancing technology, coupled with highly trained response operators, such as our own, allows people to be comfortable and safe in their homes for much longer and decreases hospital discharge times, therefore reducing strain on the NHS.
It was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of TEC to Mr Jupp and to highlight some of the ways TEC is currently underutilised.”
It was a real pleasure to meet with the team at Taking Care and learn about the innovative and life changing work they do right here in Exeter and East Devon that impacts the lives of thousands across the UK.
