Your essential guide to staying independent

Taking Care have formed an innovative partnership with London Borough of Bexley Council and St John Ambulance to provide 24/7 monitoring services along with mobile response to over 2,500 of the borough’s vulnerable and elderly residents.

The partnership will transform adult social care services in Bexley through Technology Enabled Care (TEC). It will ensure residents can access good quality services quickly and appropriately, preventing their needs from escalating.

Delivering TEC to Bexley

The three components of the partnership will benefit residents and ease the strain on the NHS and adult social care services:

Telecare equipment installation

Red Alert installation

When a resident is referred to Taking Care by Bexley Social Services, Taking Care will coordinate the installation of the telecare equipment by Red Alert.

Red Alert are an award-winning telecare and telehealth service provider and have supplied security and care services for 20 years.

24 hour alarm monitoring

Alarm calls and alerts will go through to Taking Care’s Emergency Resolution Centre. The Emergency Resolution team will reassure residents and assess the situation. The team will call the resident’s emergency contacts or coordinate a response from St John Ambulance's mobile response service if further help is required.

St John Ambulance clinicians will deliver medical care to residents who require assistance. The St John Ambulance clinicians will complete a falls assessment and provide referrals to additional services or support to prevent future incidents.

By treating people quickly and effectively, recovery time is reduced and vulnerable residents will remain independent in their own homes for longer.
