Danielle has been working with us for 15 years and lives in Northern Ireland. She joined Taking Care in 2007 and was part of the Age NI Personal Alarms team.
She loves to answer live chat queries from our website visitors and help customers find the most suitable personal alarm. Danielle is a diligent and hard-at-work mum of three, and whenever she finds time, she loves working out and socialising with friends.
We asked Danielle to share her thoughts on being part of the Taking Care team.
What is a typical day for you at Taking Care?
First thing in the morning, I log on and check the customer support tickets I've been allocated for the day. I'll then join the website live chat and check if any messages need to be responded to. What I work on often changes from day-to-day and as well as being available on the live chat to support website visitors, I also organise new alarm installations and update customer records.
If I had to describe Taking Care in one word, it would be 'caring'.

What do you love about your job?
I love that no two days are the same. I recently moved to the Customer Services team, and it has been lovely to feel part of a bigger team. I believe that at Taking Care, everyone is equal and will always be made to feel welcome.
How does your job benefit the customers?
By being online with the website live chats, I help the customers who want a convenient and easy way to ask a question. This can be people who want to check something about our personal alarms before ordering or a customer who needs support.
What do you find most challenging and rewarding about your role?
The most challenging part is when I speak to the customers who may not have spoken to anyone for a few days and may feel lonely. This is also the most rewarding part for me; if I can chat with someone and give them five minutes of my time to make them smile, my job is worth it.
Giving the customers five minutes of my time and patience could mean the world to them.
Do you remember your first day at Taking Care?
I originally started in 2007 working for Age NI Personal Alarms. On my first day, I was nervous but I was quickly made to feel so welcome and part of the team. From then to today, things have changed extraordinarily, including great new personal alarms. However, one thing that has always remained the same is the company's consideration for staff and customers. You will never be made to feel unimportant or not part of the team.
What do you love to do aside from work?
As a mum of three, life can be very busy. Whenever I find time, I do love to go to the gym, go for walks and socialise with my friends.
