Carer Emergency Contact Card (CECC)

Carers Card

Do you worry about what would happen to the person you look after if you were taken ill and unable to tell anyone that someone depends on you?

We're supporting carers with the Carer Emergency Contact Card (CECC). It offers peace of mind to family and friend carers and supports them to develop a contingency plan in case of an accident or an emergency.

The card is available to all carers in West Sussex and available from Carers Support West Sussex by visiting carerssupport.org.uk/carer-emergency-card or calling 0300 028 8888

How does the Carer Emergency Alert Card work?

  • Each card has an individual reference number which is linked to the Taking Care Emergency Resolution Team.
  • When a call is received, the Emergency Resolution Team will view your emergency arrangements and phone your contacts as directed by yourself.
  • This service operates 24 hours a day.
  • The system is confidential and the card has no personal details on it. The only way to identify you is by the reference number on the card.
