Environmental and Sustainability Policy
We are committed to promoting sustainability and have changed how we work to reduce the impact we have on the environment.
As part of this commitment we are registered as a producer of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and we ensure we comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.
The delivery packaging for our personal alarms is made from recyclable materials and the personal alarm units box are made from card and cardboard.
When equipment is returned to the warehouse, it is cleaned, tested and re-used. We refurbish around 500 units and re-use over 200 pendants per month.
All power supply units, adapters and leads are cleaned, tested and re-used.
Why recycle?
If for whatever reason the equipment cannot be refurbished, we follow the waste guidelines to make sure all WEEE is treated and then recycled. The electrical and electronic equipment is sent to a separate collection facility for recovery and recycling. By doing this, we ensure the equipment will not end up on landfill sites where hazardous substances will leak, causing the soil and water to be contaminated. Our aim is to divert the volume of waste electrical equipment from landfills.
