Planned personal alarm maintenance: 25th October 2025
In October 2025, one of the UK mobile networks, VMO2, is restricting access to their network meaning that your Taking Care alarm device will no longer be able to use that service. Your alarm device remains able to access alternative 2G/3G networks if these services are available in your area.
- During Thursday 25th October, your alarm will undergo maintenance work to proactively remove VMO2 from the device to encourage it to connect to an available alternative. This change will happen in the background, there is nothing you need to do to get the alarm to re-connect.
In a small number of cases the device will not be able to connect and the alarm will indicate this with a red CELLULAR light and you may hear an audible announcement that there is a problem with the cellular network.
