What is ActiveAlert?

ActiveAlert is a free and supplementary addition to the Taking Care personal alarm service.

ActiveAlert enhances our life-saving personal alarm service by acting as an early warning system that something may be wrong with the personal alarm user’s wellbeing.

We automatically monitor alarm call patterns and if we identify a potential concern, we will make a proactive wellbeing call to the alarm user's emergency contacts registered with us as next of kin. If we cannot speak with the emergency contacts, we will call the alarm user to check they are OK.

This helps you proactively manage health and independence by making you aware of potential issues earlier.

How does it work?

Our cutting-edge technology automatically monitors and analyses alarm call usage, including the frequency, timing and nature of the calls. By analysing patterns of behaviour, we aim to identify potential signs of concern that may indicate a change in the personal alarm user’s wellbeing.

We developed the ActiveAlert algorithm in collaboration with data scientists in Exeter, UK. ActiveAlert is included with Taking Care personal alarms to empower our customers to become more proactive in managing their wellbeing and independence, helping people live longer, healthier lives.

How does ActiveAlert help our customers?

We are very proud of the life-saving emergency resolution service our personal alarms provide. ActiveAlert enhances this service by making customers aware of potential concerns so they can proactively decide if further support is needed.

The wellbeing call also gives us an opportunity to speak with our customers or their emergency contacts and to ensure we’re providing the best possible service. If there has been a change to the personal alarm user’s health or other relevant details, we will update our records during the wellbeing call so we have up-to-date information in the event of an emergency.

How much does it cost?

There is no additional cost to ActiveAlert. We include it with all Taking Care personal alarms because we want to proactively protect the independence and wellbeing of our customers.

Can I opt out?

Yes, if you would like to opt-out of the service please contact our Customer Service team who will be happy to help.

Is ActiveAlert included with all Taking Care personal alarms?

ActiveAlert is a free and supplementary addition for new personal alarm service customers after 1st August 2024, excluding Personal Alarm Watch, Taking Care Sense and Safe Home Alert products.
