How can the GPS safety zones be used?

You can create 'safety zones' to monitor movements in and out of areas. For example, you may want to create a zone around your home so an alert is triggered when you move outside of this area. This would notify friends or family by SMS or email so they are aware you have left the area.

How do I setup the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch?

Unlike some other personal alarm watches, the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch does not need an app to set it up. Setting up the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch is straightforward and there is an easy-to-follow user guide included with your order. We provide a secure website for you to log on to and provide your user details. You can also use this website to setup safety zones.

You will need to charge the watch, turn it on and press the SOS button to place a test alarm call to our Emergency Resolution team and activate the watch.

I have a pacemaker. Can I still use the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch?

Yes, you can use the Personal Alarm Watch if you have a pacemaker fitted.

How do I make an emergency alarm call?

To call the Emergency Resolution team, press the SOS button on the front of the Personal Alarm Watch. The multi-network SIM automatically connects to the strongest mobile network available and calls the Emergency Resolution team who will speak to you through the built-in speaker and microphone.

Does the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch track my location at all times?

It updates its GPS coordinates every 4 minutes so our Emergency Resolution team can accurately identify the location of the device.

What size is the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch?

The main body of the watch is 5.8cm x 3.2cm x 1.5cm (2.28" x 1.26" x 0.6") and weighs just 40g. 

The wrist strap length can be adjusted to between 13cm - 24.5cm (5.12" - 9.65").

What’s included in the box?

You will receive the Personal Alarm Watch, magnetic charging cable and plug and a quick reference user guide.

Are there are any special requirements to use the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch?

No, we’ll provide everything you need with your order. We recommend that you let us know of any emergency contacts we should call should you need assistance. If you have a key safe, we recommend that you provide us with the location and key safe code. We will only share this information with your emergency contacts or emergency services so that they can access your property quickly and conveniently if required.

How often does the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch battery need to be charged?

We recommend the Personal Alarm Watch is charged every night. The battery fully charges in an hour and lasts approximately 30 hours.

How long should the watch be charged for?

We recommend charging the watch for 2 hours the first time. Charging the watch for 1 hour should be sufficient after the initial charge.

What does the subscription cost include?

The subscription includes everything you need to use your Personal Alarm Watch, including unlimited emergency SOS calls to our UK-based 24/7 monitoring team and unlimited GPS tracking.

There are no hidden costs or Pay As You Go SIM charges. Subscription is collected by Direct Debit. 

Is the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch water resistant?

No, the Personal Alarm Watch is splash proof but is not water-resistant so should not be worn in the bath or shower. If you would like a GPS alarm that can be worn in the bath or shower, the Taking Care Anywhere is water-resistant and includes fall detection.

Does the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch detect falls?

No, the Personal Alarm Watch does not detect falls. If you would like a GPS alarm that detects falls, please consider the Taking Care Anywhere or the Out-and-About Mobile Alarm which include a fall alarm.

Do I own the Out-and-About Personal Alarm Watch?

Yes. The subscription is for the alarm monitoring service. If the Personal Alarm Watch is lost or damaged, you would need to order a replacement to continue benefiting from the 24-hour monitored alarm service.

How do I set-up the Direct Debit subscription?

You can set-up the Direct Debit when you order online. Either choose to pay the set-up cost and first subscription payment by debit/credit card and complete the Direct Debit instruction later. Or you can choose to include the set-up cost in your first Direct Debit payment.

You’ll be asked to complete the Direct Debit instruction form once you have submitted your order online. Your confirmation email will also include a link to the Direct Debit form in case you, or the person paying the Direct Debit, are unable to complete the form immediately.

If ordering by telephone then the Direct Debit instruction will be set-up over the phone with you by one of our sales advisors.

What if I want to pay the set-up costs and someone else pay the subscription?

No problem! Many of our customers order on behalf of family members who want to pay the subscription themselves. Simply pay by debit/credit card online for the set-up and first subscription payment. Your confirmation email will include a link to the Direct Debit instruction. The person who will be paying the subscription can use this link to complete the Direct Debit instruction or call our Customer Services team, 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday on 0800 085 7371.

How do I provide you with my emergency contacts?

Once you have submitted your order, you will receive an email with a link to an online account setup form. Please complete and submit this form so we know who to contact in an emergency. If you prefer, you can provide this information by calling Customer Services on 0800 023 4301, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

We’ll also ask for some other details so we can provide the best possible response, including medical details and your key safe code and location, if you have one.
