Our wellbeing call service is a free and valuable addition to our 24-hour emergency resolution.

If the alarm is being used in a way that seems different to normal, we’ll notice. Our team will give you or a family contact a quick call to check everything is okay.

It’s simple, reassuring, and included in your subscription at no extra cost. So even if you can’t be there all the time, you’ll know someone’s still looking out.

We go beyond answering alarm calls

We are very proud of the life-saving emergency resolution service our personal alarms provide.

The free wellbeing call service enhances our emergency resolution by making customers aware of potential concerns so they can decide if further support is needed.

The wellbeing calls also give us an opportunity to speak with our customers or their contacts to ensure we’re providing the best possible service.

If there has been a change to the personal alarm user’s health or other relevant details, we will update our records during the wellbeing call so we have up-to-date information in the event of an emergency.

How does the service work?

We automatically monitor alarm call patterns and if we identify a potential concern, we will make a wellbeing call. This helps you proactively manage health and independence by making you aware of potential issues earlier.

  • Included at no extra cost, our wellbeing call service provides added reassurance alongside your personal alarm.
  • We monitor changes in alarm usage, such as the frequency, timing or nature of the calls, to help identify if something may not be quite right.
  • If we notice a change, we'll make a proactive call to check everything is okay, either with you or your chosen contacts.
  • This helps families stay informed and respond early, supporting independence and wellbeing with added peace of mind.

      What is the wellbeing call service?

      We include free wellbeing calls with our personal alarm service for customers who order a leased alarm. We analyse alarm call usage patterns and if potential concerns are detected, for example an increase in the frequency of alarm calls, we make a proactive wellbeing call to the emergency contacts registered with us as next of kin. If we cannot speak with the next of kin, we will call the alarm user to check they are OK.



      What is included in the wellbeing call?

      We will explain there has been a change to the pattern of personal alarm use that may indicate a potential concern. This helps family members proactively manage the health and independence of the alarm user by making them aware of the change so they can decide if further support is needed.

      It also gives us an opportunity to check if there has been a change in circumstances and that the details we hold are up-to-date. This helps us to ensure the best possible service in an emergency.



      How much does the wellbeing call service cost?

      There is no additional cost to the wellbeing call service. It is provided to new personal alarm customers who order a leased alarm after 1st August 2024, excluding Personal Alarm Watch and Dementia Tracker Watch products.



      Can I opt out of the wellbeing calls?

      Yes. If you would like to opt out of the service please contact Customer Services who will be happy to help. 

      I am an existing customer who ordered before 1st August 2024. How do I opt-in to the wellbeing calls?

      Existing customers who ordered before 1st August 2024 can opt-in to the wellbeing calls by contacting Customers Services with their customer number. Email activealertoptin@taking.care or call 0800 085 7371. Lines are open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
