Important update regarding your personal alarm - action required

We wanted to let you know about upcoming changes to the UK mobile network that will affect your current personal alarm, and to explain the options available to you.

Through extensive testing we have found that your current alarm device will not work with the digital switchover, so for us to continue providing our exceptional, life-saving service, it is now necessary to upgrade your alarm equipment.

Future-proof your personal alarm

You may be aware that by next year, BT will have replaced all analogue phone lines with digital lines.

We strongly recommend customers upgrade to a digital personal alarm to ensure uninterrupted service during and after the switchover. This switchover may have already happened in your area, you may therefore wish to upgrade now, and for a limited time we are offering a reduced upgrade fee of just £25 (usually £50).

If you do not wish to take advantage of the reduced upgrade fee to upgrade to a digital alarm at the moment, we can provide you with an alternative analogue personal alarm, which connects to our Emergency Resolution Centre using your telephone line in the same way as your current device. Be aware that you will need to call your landline provider and ask to be excluded from the digital switchover until January 2027.


How to make your choice

Please visit www.taking.care/upgradedoro to let us know which option you would like to proceed with. We will then send your new alarm to your preferred address.

Once you receive your new alarm, please follow instructions to install it, then test it by pressing the pendant button and inform our Emergency Resolution Team that you are carrying out a test.

You can safely dispose of your old alarm unit by taking it to your local electronics recycling point.

Please note: you must upgrade your alarm for it to continue working.
