What is the Taking Care Personal Alarm app?

The Taking Care app helps family, friends and carers stay informed and connected. It provides updates about the alarm user, access to helpful guidance and information about the service.

How do I download the Taking Care Personal Alarm app?

Search your smartphone's app store for my Taking Care Personal Alarm to download.

The app can be downloaded from the Android and Apple app stores.

How do I set up my Taking Care Personal Alarm account?

Once the app is installed on your smartphone, an account will need to be created by following these four steps:

  • Tap the "Enter your mobile number" box, and you will be taken to the "Sign up or login" screen.
  • Enter your mobile number and accept the Privacy Policy tick box. Tap the next arrow.
  • A code will be sent to your mobile phone via text for verification. Once received, enter the 6 digit code.
  • Create an account by entering your first and last name and clicking "Save". 

How do I add my Taking Care Personal Alarm to the app?

At the bottom of the app page you will see "Add Device".

Select your alarm. The app will request permission to access the camera on your phone. Choose "Allow" if appropriate.

Scan the barcode on the back of the SEVEN (alarm unit) or select "Enter Manually" to enter the eight digit barcode number.

Enter the 3 digit verification code, located on a sticker on the underside of the SEVEN. 

Enter the name of the device's user, as well as any shared notes.

You will be asked to consent to sharing your phone number with other alarm contacts. This step is optional and can be skipped.

Finally, an onboarding checklist will appear to ensure all preemptive steps have been completed for full set up of the device. This will appear for every alarm contact added.

 

How do I add my GO to the app?

At the bottom of the app page you will see "Add Device".

Yes, the app sends notifications about alarm activity and other important updates. Some notifications are for information, while others may require action.

Will I be notified if something happens?

Yes, the app sends notifications about alarm activity and other important updates, so you can stay informed.

If the alarm is triggered, the user will be connected to the Emergency Resolution Team. Once the situation has been managed, you’ll receive a notification in the app with details of the event.

Do I need to respond to every notification?

Not always. Some notifications are for information only, while others may require action. The app will help guide you

Can more than one person use the app?

Yes, multiple contacts can be added so family members, friends or carers can all stay informed and connected.

Where can I find help in the app?

The Support section within the app includes guidance on setting up and using the alarm, as well as answers to common questions.
