Our partnership with Amplius will support over 2,600 TEC connections across the Midlands and East of England ahead of the UK's digital switchover in January 2027.
Taking Care is delighted to announce a new partnership with Amplius to become its Technology Enabled Care (TEC) provider, supporting the transition and modernisation of services across 67 housing schemes and around 2,600 connections.
Ensuring TEC provision is digitally ready, scalable and future-proof
The partnership marks a significant milestone for both organisations, with Amplius seeking a more scalable, joined-up TEC service that could better support residents across its sheltered housing, extra care and older persons' properties. A key focus for Amplius has been ensuring its TEC provision is digitally ready, scalable and resilient for the future.
As one of the largest housing groups in the Midlands and East of England, Amplius owns and manages more than 24,000 homes and delivers a broad range of care and support, specialist housing and home ownership services. Many residents receive a lifeline service as part of their tenancy, making service continuity, reliability and resident safety a critical priority throughout the transition.
Roll out of two successful pilot schemes
Following a direct award through the NHC Framework, the first opportunity of its kind for Taking Care under the framework, the partnership began with a carefully managed pilot across two schemes. Following a successful testing and mobilisation, the rollout has now expanded to around 2,600 live connections covering both schemes and dispersed residents, with further transfers continuing across the portfolio.
Taking Care is delivering a comprehensive TEC solution for Amplius, including:
- Managing scheme transfers and mobilisation across the housing portfolio
- Full testing and assurance before schemes go live, including test harness requirements
- 24/7 monitoring and response through Jontek Answerlink
- Access, training and reporting support for Amplius teams
- Ongoing account management and continuous service development
A major focus throughout the programme has been ensuring schemes are transferred safely and efficiently, with robust testing, clear reporting and the right operational support in place at every stage to support digital readiness ahead of the 2027 switchover.
Digitally compliant monitoring and response service
Taking Care's ARC platform of choice, Jontek Anwerlink, provides the digitally compliant monitoring and response service underpinning the partnership, helping ensure residents receive reliable support around the clock.
Steve Gates, CEO of Taking Care, said:
We are delighted to be partnering with Amplius on this important programme to modernise and strengthen their TEC provision. The scale of the transition, combined with the need to ensure resident safety and continuity of service throughout, has made collaboration and careful planning essential from day one.
This partnership demonstrates how housing providers and TEC specialists can work together to create a more connected, scalable and future-ready service that benefits both residents and operational teams. We are proud to support Amplius as they continue to evolve their service offering."
Charlotte Holley, Assistive Technology Service Development and Quality Manager at Amplius, said:
We wanted a TEC partner that could support us not only with the transition from our previous provider, but also with building more modern, joined up and scalable service for the future.
Preparing for digital migration and ensuring our residents continue to receive reliable, high-quality support has been a key priority for us.
Taking Care demonstrated a strong understanding of our operational requirements and resident needs from the outset. Their structured approach to mobilisation, testing and ongoing support has given us confidence throughout the rollout, and we look forward to continuing to develop the service together."
The partnership reflects a growing focus across the housing sector on modernising TEC provision to deliver improved resident outcomes, stringer operational visibility and services that can scale effectively with future needs.
Taking Care is proud to be part of Amplius' digital migration journey, supporting their readiness for the January 2027 analogue switch-off.
