How do I cancel an alarm call?

To cancel an accidental call on the GO pendant, simply press and hold one button until you hear the GO announce “Cancelled”. If the alert has proceeded to the Emergency Resolution Team, speak to the operator to let them know you do not require assistance.

How and when should I test my GO pendant?

We recommend testing your GO once every quarter, making a note in a diary — we suggest using a birthday to help remember.

Is my GO pendant waterproof?

Yes, the GO is IP67 water resistant up to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.

How should I wear my GO pendant?

Your GO should be worn at home, in the garden and when you are out and about.

The GO should always be worn around the neck and outside of clothing so it is easy to access in an emergency. Wearing under clothing may prevent the fall alarm from detecting a fall.

Wearing your GO with a pacemaker -If you have a pacemaker, please do not wear your GO around your neck.

Instead, attach your GO to the supplied split ring and use a belt clip. Always keep your GO at least 15cm (6 inches) away from your pacemaker.

Fall detection — If you have a pacemaker, or wear your GO on your belt, fall detection must be turned off.

To arrange this, place your GO on the wireless charging base and call Taking Care on 0800 085 7371. We'll guide you through the next steps.

How do I test the battery in my GO pendant?

Press the single button on either side of your GO. A chime will play and your GO will show a white status light — this means the system check has started.

Your GO will announce the battery life level first. A fully charged GO will either announce “Excellent” or “Good”. The GO will warn you when the battery is getting low and will advise when it needs to be placed on the charger.

The battery will last one to two months with standard use.

How do I charge the GO pendant?

Place the GO on the charging system, with the running man symbol facing upwards. The GO will illuminate blue to show that it is charging and green when it is fully charged. Charging your GO from a low battery takes approximately 2-3 hours. The charging system comes with a cable and mains plug.

What should I do in the event of a fall?

If you experience a significant hard fall, your GO will detect and call our Emergency Resolution Team for you. Even if you can't speak, help is on the way.

While every effort is made to detect a significant fall from standing, there are circumstances where the GO may not automatically activate. If you are able to press both buttons on your GO at the same time to activate a call for help to our Emergency Resolution Team then do so.

Our guide to how fall alarms work explains the types of falls that trigger an alarm call.

Does the GO pendant track my location at all times?

No, the GO does not continuously track your location. Our Emergency Resolution Team will only be aware of your location after an alert has been sent and you have been connected to us.

Does the GO pendant alarm work anywhere?

The GO will work anywhere in the UK, excluding the Channel Islands.

A GPS satellite network must be available for the GO to determine its location. GPS technology can be affected by atmospheric conditions, radio interference, buildings, or other forms of interference.

Your location information may not be available if the GPS satellites are unavailable or the GPS signal is blocked.
