Are there are any special requirements to use the Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm?

No, we’ll provide all the equipment with your order, although you will need a mobile signal to use the alarm. We recommend that you let us know of any emergency contacts we should call should you need assistance. If you have a key safe, we recommend that you provide us with the location and key safe code. We will only share this information with the emergency services so that they can access your property quickly and conveniently if required.

Do I own the Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm?

Yes. The subscription is for the alarm monitoring service. If the Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm is lost or damaged, you would need to order a replacement to continue benefiting from the 24-hour monitored alarm service.

How can I view the GPS device’s location?

You will be able to log on to a secure website to view the current GPS device location and location history. 

Who can view the GPS device's location?

Our Emergency Resolution Team can view the GPS location and use this information to direct appropriate help to you quickly. You are in control of whether family or friends can log on to the website to view the GPS device location. You could choose close family or no-one, it's up to you.

What size is the alarm pendant?

The Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm pendant measures 60mm x 44mm (at the widest point) x 14mm and weighs just 40 grams. It is small and lightweight and can be carried in a pocket, as a key fob, worn as a pendant or put in a bag. 

How long does it take to charge the Out-and-About Classic GPS pendant?

It takes approximately 8 hours to fully charge the pendant from no charge. Charging time is reduced if the pendant is already partially charged.

Does the pendant work from any location?

The Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm will work anywhere in the UK, excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, and where there is a 3G cellular network to communicate, subject to atmospheric conditions, radio interference, buildings, or other forms of interference that can block the pendant's connection to GPS satellites.  

The multi-network SIM provides the highest level of mobile coverage by accessing all UK mobile networks to find the strongest signal. Due to the proximity of masts or buildings there may occasionally be black spots, although this is true of all mobile devices. The GPS tracking is more accurate when the device is outdoors. The SIM provides unlimited use within the UK and roams all UK networks. There is no additional charge for use throughout the EU.

Do I need a telephone landline to use the Out-and-About Classic GPS Alarm?

No, it uses a multi-network SIM and does not need to be connected to a telephone landline. This makes it perfect for customers that don't have a home phone or want reassurance they can get help when they are out-and-about at the touch of a button.

What if I want to pay the set-up costs and someone else pay the subscription?

No problem! Many of our customers order on behalf of family members who want to pay the subscription themselves. Simply pay by debit/credit card online for the set-up and first subscription payment. Your confirmation email will include a link to the Direct Debit instruction. The person who will be paying the subscription can use this link to complete the Direct Debit instruction or call our Customer Services Team, 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday on 0800 085 7371.

How do I provide you with my emergency contacts?

Once you have submitted your order, you will receive an email with a link to an online account set up form. Please complete and submit this form so we know who to contact in an emergency. If you prefer, you can provide this information by calling Customer Services on 0800 023 4301, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

We’ll also ask for some other details so we can provide the best possible response, including medical details and your key safe code and location, if you have one.
