What we are looking for

The perfect candidate will have excellent communication and relationship building skills; who is motivated and organised and used to high volume workloads and priortising multiple items of work.

In this role specifically it is to provide proactive, comprehensive and professional day-to-day HR administration, including assisting with recruitment, internal communications, maintaining staff records, employee relations and absence.

 

What does a day in the life of our HR Administrator look like?

No day is the same and we need someone to join us who can be flexible and adapt to changing situations with the ability to multi-task effectively. To give you an idea a typical day will include:

  • Assisting the end to end administration of recruitment and onboarding process which includes assisting with processing recruitment requests, communicating to and providing a consistent great experience to all candidates, keeping managers informed of the progress of their candidates through the recruitment process.
  • Initial shortlisting of CVs, arranging interviews, communicating outcomes to candidates and ensuring that full knowledge of status of recruitment is kept on top of daily.
  • Responsibility for the recruitment mailbox, answering queries in a timely manner and escalating queries where required to the People and Resourcing Officer.
  • Assisting with offer process, verbally offering to new hires, including applying for references and DBS clearance, contracts of employment, opening new personnel files and tracking return of documents.
  • Accurate filing of all HR paperwork.
  • To have the ability to take notes in a meeting.
  • Support to the wider HR team where and when required.
  • Give weekly update on recruitment/starters.
  • Work with the People and Resourcing Officer to collate content for recruitment and internal communications purposes.

 

Education

  • Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent.

 

Developing and training our people is really important to us, however we will need you to have the following skills and experience to be able to perform the role.

 

Experience

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience of working in a busy administrative environment.
  • Experience in using databases to input, maintain personal information.
  • Experience in delivering high standards of customer service.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Working in a confidential environment.

 

Skills

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to deal confidently and tactfully with people at all levels.
  • Able to multi task.
  • Have a good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law/Legislation (desirable).

 

The role will be subject to a standard DBS check.

Salary: £17,290 per annum.

Hours: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Location: Our modern offices in Aperture at Pynes Hill, Rydon Lane, Exeter EX2 5SP with free parking. All our offices are Covid 19 secure.

Interview Process: The interview process will be in two stages – the first will be a telephone/Microsoft Teams interview, followed by a face to face or Microsoft Teams interview.
